"When you graduate from an institution, you never really leave."

Alan Frawert (AACS '99, BSCS '00) is a principal technical specialist for The Walt Disney Co. in Burbank, Calif., where he works out of the entertainment company's corporate headquarters not far from Disney's theme park and studios. Frawert's primary duty is to provide technological support to the company's many divisions.

"Each division has its own business model, and it's my job to help deliver the technology solutions to tie it all together," the IT specialist explains.

In his free time, Frawert is the owner and operator of Quantum Air LLC, which provides helicopter tours for film location-scouting agencies and promotion filming, pilot training, and forest and police agency training. Frawert, who flies helicopters in his spare time, is vice president of the Professional Helicopter Pilots Association (PHPA).

Frawert knows the value of maintaining a lifetime relationship with his alma mater. "I'm proud to be a Strayer alumnus," he says. "I've always felt that when you graduate from an institution, you never really leave. You carry what you have gained with you for the rest of your life, and it shows in the quality of your work."

The alumnus plans to head back to Strayer University in the near future for more education. "Technology is always changing," Frawert says, "and if you want to keep up you have to be a lifelong learner. And even though I don't live near a Strayer campus, I can still take courses online."
