2007 Outstanding Alumni Award Recipient, Baltimore Ceremony

Fawn M. Pettigrew (MSIS '04) currently serves as the director of information technology (IT) operations and services for the Department of Homeland Security’s National Protection Programs Directorate in Washington, D.C. In this role, she is responsible for the delivery of all IT and telecommunications for the directorate.

While serving as headquarters operation branch chief of the Federal Emergency Management Agency in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina struck, Ms. Pettigrew took on the role of acting enterprise operations division director. During what had become the largest federal disaster response effort in U.S. history, Ms. Pettigrew managed the agency-wide technology service delivery while supervising a group of 183 federal and 450 contract employees.
